BeeWorthy Farms

BeeWorthy Farms is a certified organic, woman-owned flower and herb farm based in Encinitas, California, cultivating seasonal blooms with a deep commitment to ecological stewardship and pollinator health. Growing on a one-acre plot, the farm focuses on regenerating soil, supporting native biodiversity, and creating habitat for pollinators — embracing a “for people and pollinators” philosophy that guides everything they grow. Their flowers are thoughtfully grown for local florists and community partners, offering an alternative to conventional floral supply chains through locally rooted, chemical-free production. Beyond the field, BeeWorthy creates opportunities for connection through workshops, events, and on-farm experiences — inviting people to slow down, engage with the land, and rediscover the beauty and reciprocity of seasonal growing. For me personally, BeeWorthy and its founder Cathryn hold an especially meaningful place in my journey into agriculture. Back in 2019, Cathryn was my first true farming mentor while serving as the head farmer at Farm Lab. She opened the farm to the broader community in a way that made farming feel accessible, welcoming, and deeply human. Through her leadership, countless people — myself included — were inspired to reconnect with the land and imagine farming as not only viable work, but meaningful work. Her influence continues to ripple outward through the many growers, gardeners, and community spaces she has helped inspire over the years.
